The New Urban Agenda (NUA), laying out the vision for sustainable cities and human settlements for all, was adopted at the Habitat III held in Quito. In line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (UN SDGs), the New Urban Agenda (NUA) emphasizes the significant role of cities for sustainable urban development, as a great deal of the action required is to be taken at the local level.
Against this backdrop, this Session will discuss how to facilitate cities in implementing the NUA and the SDGs, and feature sustainable urban policy examples on urban planning and regeneration, environment, financing etc., and explore opportunities for city-to-city cooperation to support the implementation of Global Agendas
