Public-social alliances from the territory: Data produced from local governments, social organizations and communities for the implementation of the NUA

The event will promote a discussion on challenges and solutions to adapt the Regional Action Plan for Latin America of the NUA to the different territories. Seeking to strengthen data collection and production capacities of local governments to implement, monitor and evaluate actions in relation to the NUA through alliances with Civil Society Organizations This will provide a critical look at the data available to measure SDG 11 of Sustainable Cities and Communities and practical knowledge on how to reach the goals established for this objective.
Local government are one of the most important actors regarding the implementation of the NUA. Likewise, civil society organizations are recognized in this agenda because of their experience working on the field. Also, communitarian organizations are key for the adaptation to diverse contexts of the urban challenges.
This event seeks to bring together these three protagonists for the implementation of the NUA for the generation of synergies for the production of data and knowledge based on their territorial capacities, with the objective of contributing to the local implementation of the Regional Action Plan in response to the territorial needs, demands and interests gathered in the representation of local governments, civil society organizations and communities organizations.
