It is our intention, during this event, to share an exercise among the urban planning legislations of Latin America, that shows a quantitative and a qualitative radiography with respect to them. Similarly, the contents will be evaluated, according to the postulates proposed by the New Urban Agenda applied to the legislation. These contents will be analyzed through different case studies if said regulations are clear in their concepts, if it clearly stipulates what is to be achieved, and if objectives that can be clearly measured and established, in order to deduce the effectiveness and efficiency of the norms that generate duties and responsibilities in public and private actors in urban population centers. Likewise, we will discuss the elements that should be included in a model urban development legislation for Latin America, based on common problems, common aspirations, on new paradigms that develop the contents of the New Urban Agenda, and the Objective of Sustainable Development number 11.
