Cities are increasingly leaders in the creation and transition to more sustainable and resilient pathways. In view of facing a global human population of approximately nine billion by 2050, both science and practical solutions strategies are critical to enable resilience and sustainable co-development of Urban areas for the future. Yet, current and emerging research being undertaken on urban systems is often perceived as inaccessible, and not specifically addressing the challenges faced by urban decision and policy makers as well as practitioners internationally. Given such challenges and opportunities, it is critical that current and new research and engagement platforms are established to assemble and increase cooperation between international research networks in support of the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. This networking event, hosted by Future Earth’s Urban Knowledge-Action network will demonstrate how bringing an integrated approach to scientific research, knowledge transfer, policy making and investment can produce transformational change. The event brings together Future Earth’s international network of participants from academia, government, civil society, planning and practice and the private sector from over twenty countries on six continents to participate in a highly engaging networking event. This event aims to contribute by sparking synergies between academia, city planners and practitioners, and industry and investors that become lasting connections and go on to form inn-Your data has been truncated.
