Strengthening resilience of human settlements after complex natural disasters and conflicts Lessons from Humanitarian Response and Recovery

This interactive networking event will highlight new approaches, challenges, and key lessons learned in some of the most complex (urban) environments after major humanitarian emergencies. InterAction and other humanitarian and development partners will share innovative practical examples and initiatives from natural disasters, internal displacements, refugee crises and other complex emergencies. Decades of experience and innovations, with an emphasis on multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder collaboration, will support the implementation of Habitat III's New Urban Agenda and serve as a model for local actors and institutions in risk reduction, emergency response, and recovery.

Participant at this event will have an opportunity to directly interact with organizations such as InterAction, International Organization for Migration (IOM), USAID/OFDA, Habitat for Humanity International, Care International UK, UN Habitat - City Resilience Program, Global Shelter Cluster/UNHCR/IFRC, WB/GFDRR, and International Refugee Committee (IRC).
