Making Productive Tourism and New Culture Destination
Training EventsRoom 410
- Technical University Berlin and TAF Culture Lab
Tourism like other industries must be considered as part of technological, cultural and sustainable development, where projects do not stand in isolation but understood as part of an interconnected changing network of issues, actors and geographies. The training session will use participatory, role associated problem-based approach assisting learners to understand different values and challenges around tourism from three different points of view: City administration, Citizen and traveller/migrant worker. It will aim to do so in the backdrop of the changing technological, cultural and sustainable landscape. By doing so, we hope to break siloed business as usual thinking around tourism, to help the learners develop their own localised sustainable and inclusive development strategies. In our training session, the trainers will share approaches and best practices from ICDF in Belize, Taiwan and more. The training session will discuss challenges around Tourism helping to sketch out localised and common synergies across tourism in their communities. Subsequently the learners will be guided with mini game-like sessions to rediscover the potential for new values for Tourism in their community.
